- What did you want to be when you were younger?
“I wanted to play in the WNBA/become an art teacher”
- How did you get from that to being a teacher?
“My senior year in high school I was a mentor for 8th graders and discovered I liked working with and teaching kids”
- Was there a teacher that inspired you to be a teacher?
“There were several young female history teachers that influenced me. I was also influenced by teachers throughout my school career – even my kindergarten teacher who stayed involved in my life well past my high school graduation.”
- Does your sleep schedule get messed up over break?
“Yes, more over summer break”
- What’s your favorite thing about your job?
“I like laid back classes like yearbook and newspaper where I get to work with students to create something for the community”
- Favorite day of the week?
“Friday, my husband and I go out to eat and then watch ‘Shark Tank’”
- Strengths?
“I learn new things easily and like to learn”
- Weaknesses?
“I’m a people pleaser”
- What is your favorite thing to teach?
“I like to teach geography”
- What’s your favorite lesson to teach?
“Light painting in photography classes”
- Funniest memory teaching?
“Telling my 7th and 8th graders I got married. I asked them what lesson they learned from this and they said, ‘That you’re a liar!'”
