On Friday Oct. 26, Kelly Kanan’s Life Skills class hosted the fourth annual Special Pop Boo-gie Halloween Dance for surrounding Life Skills programs.

“These dances are always a blast. Students really enjoy mingling with the other students and making new friends,” Kanan said.

Students from Basehor, Bonner Springs, Tonganoxie, Mill Valley, Piper, Pathways 18-21 and Bonner Springs 18-21 attended. Activities included pumpkin bowling, witch toss(ring toss but with witch hats), cornhole, face painting, costume contests and a photo booth. There was also a guessing jar filled with candy, and four students guessed correctly.

“A highlight was seeing the excitement on the costume contest winners’ faces,” Kanan said.

The dance was worked by students in National Honors Society (NHS), Student Ambassadors, JAG and student volunteers.

Junior Tailey McGehee mentioned her favorite part of the dance was witnessing the student’s dance moves.

“They were all really good dancers. They just have a carefree attitude that I wish I had,” McGehee said.
