Search for the Silver Lining

It seems like everyone is always saying how it’s important to have a positive outlook on things and always think on the bright side. That advice is always being said to follow, but do the people that say it actually abide by that rule? More times than not I see people complaining, whether it be on a social network or if they physically go around moping. Here’s what I have to say about that: stop being a downer!

Obviously not everything is going to go the way we want it to 100 percent of the time; it’s life. But when things don’t go the way we want them to, instead of thinking about how much it stinks and being upset, try thinking of something positive that could come out of the situation. Being upset and mopey will only make your attitude and mood even more negative. You being a bad mood can lead to others’ moods turning around, too. Why be the reason somebody’s day turns bad? In any given situation, it will always be better to think positively about things. I truly believe that you can make something positive out of any and every situation, and you should always search for it.

Laughter, happiness, and a positive attitude not only makes others feel good, but it is better for your own health as well.  Studies have proven that what we think and feel on a regular basis plays great influence over our personal health. It’s pretty much common sense: being happy, positive, and making the best out of any obstacle you come to will affect your health in a good way much more than being mad, gloomy, and morose.

It’s clear that having a positive attitude has a worthwhile effect on yourself and others. A smile to someone could flip their whole entire day around. Positive spirits shine in on other people’s lives in ways we don’t always see or know. Take it upon yourself to be uplifting and the effects will surely amaze you. Creating a positive attitude every day can change anyone’s life. Life is so much better being positive.

So, always try to find the silver lining; there is a brighter side to the problem you’re facing. Once you do find it, things just get better from there. Optimism does wonders.

Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.” – Hellen Keller.
