Written by: Alyssa Tyler, Reporter

Friday and Saturday evening, the cross country C-team, JV, and varsity teams ran at the KU Rim Rock Classic. Girls varsity took 19th out of 29 teams and boys varsity took 29th out of 36 teams,  girls’ JV took 14th out of 24 teams, boy’s JV took 27th out of 29 teams,

“I think overall the team did really well. It was a big step up. I think we competed really well against other 5A schools,” head coach Brock Peterson.

For the past seven years Peterson has tried to build the cross country team in numbers.

“Please come out and join us! We have fantastic people and we just want more of them. To come be apart of [it], we work hard, we have fun, we’re there for each other. You don’t have to be fast and a runner to enjoy cross country, just come out and be apart of the team, push yourself, set goals for yourself, and try to accomplish those goals that’s what it’s really about. We look for good people, not fast people.”

The next cross country meet will be Saturday 29th at the Ray-Pec cross country classic.
