n Oct. 7, varsity volleyball won the first game against Ottawa, 25-14, and lost to Lawrence with a score of 17-25 in a home game.

In between the two games, Seniors Ava Seaton and Magi Osterhaus were recognized by the coaches and volleyball team.

Head coach Amy Irvin said, “We need to get better at ending the games [and] when it’s tight at the end, being able to close fast, not letting them be able to get back in it. And to not make small simple errors [that] give them points to finish faster.”

Regionals and state are coming up fast for fall sports, volleyball regional game will be Sat. Oct. 20.

Irvin said. “Our goal is to get to state. Being 5A this year will be tough. However I would put them against any team, [they] play hard and intense [and] have the heart and the determination. It’s just being more driven than the team we’re playing.”

Volleyball’s next game will be Tuesday Oct. 9 at Shawnee Heights High school.
