On Wednesday, April 3, the girls’ swim team went to Bonner Springs High School for their fourth meet. Even though the team is practicing and competing with Lansing, the girls broke four BLHS swim records at the meet. Shawnee Mission East, Bonner Springs, Lansing/Basehor-Linwood and Turner competed. Lansing/BLHS placed second overall with 508 points, 70 points short of first.

During the 200 [independent medley] IM, the announcer messed up the start, so our fastest swimmer ended up getting second place by just under a second because he didn’t say take your mark right before the beep that signals us to start,” said senior Trinity Krouse. “Before our next meet, I think we just need to work on faster turns and getting more comfortable in some of the harder events.”

The girls’ next meet will be at Lansing on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
