Savory and Sweet, the Best Fall Treats

With the upcoming cool weather, holidays and the overall coziness, Fall is a favorite season for many. Throughout these confusing times, it might be hard to keep yourself safe and occupied so here are 2 simple fall recipes you can make at home.


Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins- This pumpkin spiced treat is a perfect grab and go breakfast or dessert.These moist and delicious muffins are a perfect comfort food for this chilly fall season.


  • Four eggs
  • Two cups sugar
  • One (16 oz) can pureed pumpkin
  • One and a half cups oil
  • Three cups flour
  • Two teaspoons baking soda 
  • Two teaspoons baking powder
  • One teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • One teaspoon salt
  • One package chocolate chips


  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar, pumpkin and oil until smooth
  2. Add in dry ingredients and mix well
  3. Fold in chocolate chips
  4. Fill greased and paper-lined muffin cups three quarters full
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 16-20 minutes
  6. Serve and enjoy!



Creamy Pumpkin Hummus- This pumpkin inspired dip is a delicious and healthy treat. This hummus can be served with many things such as apples, pears, pita chips and vegetables.



  • One can (15 ounces) garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • One cup canned pumpkin
  • One third cup tahini
  • One fourth cup olive oil or pumpkin seed oil
  • Three tablespoons orange juice
  • One tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • One teaspoon ground cumin
  • One teaspoon minced garlic
  • One fourth teaspoon salt
  • Two tablespoons pumpkin seed oil or olive oil, optional
  • One fourth cup salted pumpkin seeds or pepitas
  • One fourth cup pomegranate seeds
  • Baked pita chips and sliced apples and pears 


  1. In a food processor, combine the first nine ingredients until smooth
  2. Transfer to a serving platter or bowl
  3. Top with pumpkin seeds or pomegranate seeds (optional)
  4. Serve with your choice of chip, vegetable, or fruit!
